Founders Story: A Journey Rooted in Healing and Natural Care

My Unique Spirit was born from one of the most vulnerable seasons of my life. In 2010, I was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer, a moment that reshaped everything I understood about care, comfort, and the body’s need for gentleness. As my skin changed and my spirit weathered the storm, I began creating my own products — simple, natural blends rooted in ancestral wisdom and crafted to nurture myself and my family.

What started as a personal ritual became a pathway to healing. I turned to raw, fair‑trade oils, butters, and herbs, guided by African ancestral rhythms and supported by Chinese and Ayurvedic principles. These ingredients helped me reconnect with my body, offering softness where there was pain and grounding where there was fear.

In 2019, I was medically cleared from colon cancer, and that milestone opened the door for me to share this work more widely. Today, I continue to navigate life with chronic myeloid leukemia, a condition I manage with ongoing care — and this journey deepens my commitment to creating products that honor sensitivity, gentleness, and the emotional landscape of healing.
